Bigfin Reef Squid

Aori squid photo

Like the kisslip cuttlefish, the bigfin reef squid enters the Seto Inland Sea by July to spawn and grow. Its head is transparent, flaky and soft, and it is one of the largest squid species in the Seto Inland Sea, growing up to 40cm in length. Their bodies are translucent, which makes them difficult to find in seawater.
