SAT 19th October SANUKI MARCHE presents Takamatsu City Central Wholesale Market Visit  – Taste an Olive Yellow Tail! –

Tours organized by SANUKI MARCHE are much like a study group. Learn about Kagawa’s local produce & processed goods by visiting their growing districts and their distribution sites.

This time we will pay a special visit to the marine product section of Takamatsu City Central Wholesale Market.

Takamatsu City Central Wholesale Market uses Dutch auction system: a rare method nationwide.

In Dutch auction system, while prices are being gradually reduced, whoever raises a hand first is accepted.

This is the opposite of the standard bidding-up system, but it makes transactions move faster along with the unique finger signs representing encrypted numbers.

The auctions are usually closed to the public, but this tour lets you make a close observation of all the action.

Afterwards, we will taste marinated Olive Yellowtail Domburi and Kobachi (small bowl) for breakfast.

Moreover, you can purchase half a fillet of Olive Yellowtail sashimi at a market price upon request! (half a fillet serves roughly 10 people)

* Free for infants under 3 years old

Half a fillet of Olive Yellowtail Sashimi @3,000 yen

  4. Request for Olive Yellowtail Sashimi (with/without skin, including/excluding Ara (bony leftovers) AND/OR Kama (collar part))

 

Applications close on Wednesday 16th October, 2019.

As the floors at the market will be wet, we advise you to wear old shoes or rainboots that can get dirty.
